Keeping Your Faith
The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6). The Christian life is all about faith. We either have faith in the positive or in the negative. We either believe that good things are going to happen to us or that bad things will happen. It is by the confession of our mouths that faith is released. Sometimes, I must admit, that I speak negatively and find that I get exactly what I believed for. I believe that God can do anything and that He will always take care of his people. I believe that if we will just trust Him that He has promised to meet all our needs. He knows what we have need of, even before we ask Him. Why is it that we have such a hard time trusting God, even though we know that He is faithful and honors His word?
I believe that we must first sit down and examine what we really believe about God. Once we have determined what we really believe, then we must examine why we believe what we believe. Is what we believe truly Biblical or is it simply something we wish to believe about God or something someone said that we just accepted? We must dig into the word and base our beliefs about God upon what His word says. Whatever His word says is what we must stand upon and base our faith upon. His word is never wrong. Our interpretation is sometimes wrong. We must be careful that we are putting our faith in the right things. So what do you believe, why do you believe it and do you really have faith in God?
